TEENAGERS were dressed to kill as they celebrated the end of their school year with a James Bond themed ‘Thunder’ Ball.

Year 11 students from Northallerton School and Sixth Form College partied into the night at The Village Inn, Brompton, at the school’s annual prom.

Making an entrance  in slick suits and slinky evening gowns more than 150 Bond girls and super spy’s enjoyed their very own ‘Casino Royal’ event, playing for ‘fun’ money on blackjack and roulette tables before rounding off the evening with live music and dancing.

Head of Year 11 Reuben Tyreman said: “The prom committee came up with the Bond theme this year and they have done a spectacular job of putting it all together.

“This is the first time we have held one of our proms at The Village Inn and along with Calverts Carpets, who laid out a red carpet for our arrival, they have really gone all out to bring 007 to North Yorkshire.

“The prom is always a fabulous night and a great way to say well done to our students who have all worked so hard this year.”

Pupils attending the ball enjoyed a meal of pizza, chips and nibbles and were entered into a prize draw to win back the cost of their prom ticket on the night.

Leah Dawson, 15, of Northallerton added: “I’ve been looking forward to the prom for ages but I only found the dress that I wanted to wear last week.”

“We’ve been a year group for five years and it will be sad that we are now all going in different directions but this is a great way to get together one last time to say goodbye.”
