HARD work and good behaviour proved to be to students’ tastes after they were rewarded for their efforts with a spicy treat.

Haughton Academy students were treated to an end of half-term pizza lunch special to recognise their good attendance and behaviour at school.

Deputy headteacher Sue Gill said: “Students love pizza and the lunch was part of a series of rewards designed to inspire young people in their learning.

“We stage six of these lunches a year for the top five students and they are allowed to bring a friend, which goes down very well – just like the pizza.”

Head girl Gemma Challans said: “We all know the importance of good attendance and behaviour to our learning but the lunches are great as they recognise our hard work.”
