After a close-fought contest, the winning house of Gilbert was presented the coveted Queen’s Cup by Barnard Castle Preparatory School headmistress Laura Turner.

Mrs Turner said: “The feelings of healthy competition engendered here at Prep School ensure the children have fun, gain invaluable experience of winning and losing and develop a sense of motivation and drive.

“It was clear to see that they were striving to do their very best supported unreservedly and enthusiastically by classmates, teachers, friends and family which resulted in a fantastic spectacle of sport and enjoyment.”
