HOUSE pride was on the line as young athletes took to field in a trial of bat and ball skills.

Years 3-6 competed for honours with the girls playing rounders, the boys cricket, as they exhibited their summer sporting prowess.

Head of science Sue Seddon said: “The rounders competition was an extremely close contest with each house winning a match and some very high standards of play.”

Head of PE and games Ben Wicling added: “There is some genuine talent among the cricketers which bodes extremely well for the future.”

Drake won both the cricket and rounders contests in Years 3/4 while in Year 5 and 6 Gilbert won the cricket and Raleigh took the honours at rounders .
