TUXEDOS and tiaras made an appearance as party going prom pupils marked the end of their exams in spectacular fashion.

Year 11 students from Longfield Academy of Sport, Darlington, arrived in style at the 12th century Walworth Castle for their final year group celebration.

The 105 students, dressed in dazzling evening wear, were joined by members of staff, including head teacher Susan Johnson.

They made their way into their elegant castle surroundings to enjoy a sit down meal followed by an evening of music and dancing.

“We are extremely proud of all of the hard work that our students have put in to their studies,” said Mrs Johnson.

“Tonight is the final celebration of five years of Longfield Academy before they move on to the next stage of their lives.

“The prom is a chance for staff and students to join together one last time and hopefully we will have even more reasons to celebrate with them when they get their exam results later in the summer.”
