AN ARTS graduate with an eye for glamour is fashioning a future in film and the world of couture.

Freelance Cleveland College of Art & Design graduate Tyler Anderson found herself providing the costumes for two cult movies filmed by Channel 4 working alongside two other graduates.

Mini movies Stupid Cult and Baby Zominic were made by Duffel Films in Newcastle for Channel 4’s Random Acts series.

“I had to produce a giant red velvet robe, which I made from curtains and source the costumes for a black comedy about a brain-eating zombie baby,” said the 21-year-old, of Blyth, who graduated from CCAD with a first class honours degree in entertainment design crafts. “I was there when they filmed it and it was gruesome but really good fun.”

When she isn’t involved in horror movies Tyler works with the celebrated luxury lingerie label Tallulah Love on nightwear and lounge collections.

She also works with Morpeth wedding dress specialist Kathryn S Truman, learning the ropes and looking after the business’ social media.

“Every year my dad and I go and see a West End show and after enjoying Hairspray I remember thinking ‘I want to be involved with something like that’,” she said.

“CCAD was fantastic and the friends and contacts I made there are proving to be really useful. One day I would love to have my own bespoke dress range and at the moment I am just making the most of every opportunity that arises.”

Her former tutor at CCAD Julie Archer added: “The film was a really exciting opportunity. Tyler was an excellent student and flourished at CCAD. She turned out some beautifully skilled work.”
