A BUDDING physician is looking to put flesh on the bones of his learning as he starts his journey towards becoming an orthopaedic surgeon.

Richmond School and Sixth Form College student Josh Moore will read medicine at York University after gaining two As and a B in his A Levels. After qualifying, he hopes to practise in hospitals in Australia.

“One of my relatives is on dialysis and it has always fascinated me how we can intervene to improve people’s health,” the 18-year-old, of Brompton-on-Swale, said. “For some reason I have always been interested in bones and ligaments and would love to be a surgeon one day.”

Head of sixth form Leslie Richardson said: “We are all delighted for Josh; he has worked so hard to secure his university place and he deserves every success. I am sure he will do really well studying medicine and he can now pursue his dream to become a surgeon, which is such an important profession.”
