TALENTED young actors gained another string to the bow after a comedic romp through Sherwood Forest.

Year 5 and 6 pupils from Barnard Castle Preparatory School staged two performances of Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies, the culmination of a term of rehearsals.

Written by Craig Hawes, the audience was taken on a journey into the depths of Sherwood Forest to discover the hilarious truth behind the legend of Robin Hood.

When the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his gormless guards threaten the villagers of Sherwood a spirited Maid Marion hires a band of freedom fighters for protection with riotous results.

Teacher Katie Shearn said: “Every single pupil has taken part which is important to their learning and incredibly rewarding.

“They took part in acting workshops and auditioned for the roles they were interested in playing. They all did incredibly well and for the Year 6s it was a lovely way to end their time in Prep School.”
