ALL things bright and beautiful will be heading into the community thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of a school community.
Cheerful greetings cards and a vast array of produce are being delivered to people following another successful harvest festival by Barnard Castle Preparatory School.
Proceeds from a collection are being sent to Teesdale Day Clubs and the food will be distributed by The Hub.
Family and friends joined pupils and staff for an uplifting harvest festival service in the school chapel delivered by Rev Dr Ana Moskvina-Baldwin.
She said: “When we look at all the produce here in detail it comes from all over the world so there are a lot of people to thank.”
Children took it in turns to deliver readings, the choir sang a moving rendition of Autumn Leaves, the whole school performed Cauliflowers Fluffy and Pre-Prep pupils sang Conkers.
Headmistress Laura Turner said: “There is no nicer way to say goodbye to the summer and welcome the autumn than the harvest festival service.
“It provides the perfect opportunity to remind our children how lucky they are and share this good fortune with the community, to let them know we are always thinking about them.”
