A MAGICAL tale of beans and brawn has been enriching children’s lives and helping them grow in their learning.
All year groups at Keeble Gateway Academy, Thirsk, were treated to a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk by the country’s number one touring theatre company, M&M Theatrical Productions.
In a chaotic hour-long performance of music, dance and comedy, pupils were transported to a magical, giant-inhabited land in search of a golden egg laying bird, while being pursued by a panto villain. Audience participation was the order of the day.
Jonny Davies, headteacher of the school, which is part of the Elevate Multi Academy Trust, said: “Throughout every pupil’s time at Keeble Gateway Academy, we are committed to providing a rich and varied range of experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
“We want our children to have opportunities to experience sport, music and the arts, broadening their horizons and helping them to discover new interests and passions.
“The opportunity to experience live theatre is an important part of this. For many of our children, this may be their first experience of seeing a professional live performance and we believe opportunities such as these can create lasting memories, inspire curiosity and help children develop a lifelong appreciation of the arts.”
