YEAR 6 pupils have helped their academy celebrate a milestone after becoming the first children to pass right through the school.
Keeble Gateway Academy, Sowerby, Thirsk, was a new build project for Elevate Multi Academy Trust, opening its doors in September 2019.
Its very first class has now completed its primary education there and the Year 6 children have been helping to celebrate the landmark event.
Headteacher Jonny Davies said: “Over the past year, our pupils have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, resilience and kindness, creating wonderful memories while setting a fantastic example for the younger children in our school.
“Their residential visit to Bewerley Park and end-of-year production gave them the chance to truly shine, showcasing their confidence, teamwork and many talents.
“We are incredibly proud of how hard they have worked and how far they have come, and we know they will go on to accomplish great things as they begin the next exciting chapter of their education.
“We wish each and every one of them every success and happiness as they move on to secondary school.”
