CAR enthusiasts helped raise thousands of pounds for charity after a leading school hosted an annual show of classic vehicles.
More than 130 exhibits from all over the country packed the front lawn at Barnard Castle School for the fifth automotive showcase.
Everything from Triumphs to taction engines, Bond Buggies to Beetles, Ferraris to Fords, dating back as far as the 1930s, all polished to perfection, dazzled the crowds.
One of the organisers, Barnard Castle School’s head of design and technology Alan Beaty, said he was delighted with the support the event received so that they could help local charities.
“It started with a group of us who all love classic cars and it has grown since then,” said Alan, who came in a Rover 110.
“It always attracts some really interesting vehicles. This year there was a 1930 Riley 10, a rare Volvo 242GT and a lovely V8 AC Cobra. There was also a rare Metro 6R4, a Renault 5 Turbo II, an Escort RS1700 and a Porsche 924 Carrera GT.”
Funds raised will be donated to the charity The Clique which supports a variety of local causes and has donated tens of thousands of pounds since it was founded in 1975.
