PUPILS have won high praise from inspectors for being polite, passionate and proud of their school.
Ofsted rated Junction Farm Primary School, Eaglescliffe, outstanding for behaviour and attitudes, personal development, early years provision and leadership and management and good for the quality of education, after an inspection earlier this month.
Headteacher Louise Daly said she was delighted that the inspectors had captured the essence of the school, part of the Spark Multi-Academy Trust, which caters for 379 pupils aged three to 11.
“The report encapsulates everything that makes the school special and vindicates the hard work of the whole community – staff, pupils and their families,” she said. “We are very proud of the report, particularly the references to the hard work that goes into the development of the whole child and the extensive opportunities we provide our children.
“I am particularly pleased with the feedback from inspectors who noticed how thoughtful, articulate, passionate and proud our children are of their school. The report states pupils embrace becoming Junction Farm STARS and are proud to live out the school’s ethos fully.
Inspectors said: “The expectations for pupils at Junction Farm are very high. The school prioritises their work to develop the whole child. Pupils are proud to live out the school’s ethos fully. Pupils leave the school achieving very highly, ready for the next stage of their education.
“Behaviour is exemplary. Pupils thrive in calm classrooms. They enjoy a wide range of lively and planned risk-taking play activities.
“Children in the early years thrive at this school. The curriculum is brought to life by a wide range of exciting and purposeful learning opportunities. Children are deeply engaged in these opportunities and show very high levels of motivation and resilience.
“Pupils gain important skills needed for life in modern Britain. This work is exemplary. The school is tenacious in its ambition to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to be safe.”
The report also noted that leaders at all levels had high ambitions for pupils, that trustees and governors knew the school well and carried out their roles effectively.
