AN ORGANIC dairy has taken a delivery itself after teaming up with a family car dealership.

Acorn Dairy has boosted its fleet of milk vans to nine thanks to Vauxhall dealer Sherwoods.

Two bespoke three and a half tonne chassis cab Vauxhall Movanos were converted by Gray and Adams and feature built in chiller units to keep the milk at the perfect temperature of between two and four degrees.

Both new vehicles, which each can carry up to 1,400 pints, will deliver milk on rounds around the region.

Both based in Darlington, Acorn Dairy has been providing Sherwoods with its milk for many years and Acorn Dairy owner Graham Tweddle said he was delighted with the latest tie-up.

Acorn Dairy delivers milk across the region and Sherwoods also has dealerships in Stockton and Northallerton.

“This represents a significant investment for us and it is fantastic that two Darlington companies are working together so well,” he said.
“I think what we gain from working with Sherwoods is great support and availability of spares from a well respected dealership.”

Sherwoods general manager Simon MacConachie added: “As a family business ourselves we share a lot in terms of our culture and ethos with Acorn Dairy.

“It’s not just about selling the vehicle but about providing the best possible service after the sale, so that Graham can do the same for his customers.

“Our staff and customers have been drinking Acorn’s milk in their tea for years so it’s great to play a part in its continued delivery door to door around the region.”
